International students visiting Lancaster became ‘Dementia Friends’ and visited care homes in the Lancaster area as part of a day of community action.

The Students’ Union works with the Alzheimers Society, holding regular training sessions as part of our community volunteering work.

This week more than 100 students from universities in India, China, Pakistan, Ghana and Malaysia, visiting Lancaster as part of our summer exchange programme, took part in the training.

After completing their training, groups of students visited 17 nursing homes in the Lancaster area to run music workshops with residents.
