Highlights of the month include:

  • Wednesday LGBTQ+ Association Meetings
  • Stall in Alexandra Square, with staff LGBT Network (Thursday 8 Feb)
  • Film screenings (Monday 12 Feb)
  • Open Lecture by Chris Creegan - Gay Rights in Everyday Life: Then and Now (Thursday 15 Feb)
  • Open Mic Night (Wednesday 28 Feb)
  • Big Glittery Night Out on campus (Friday 2 March)

The union logo at the top of our website will also be in the colours of the LGBTQ+ pride flag for the whole month.

Union LGBTQ+ Part-Time Officer Hazel Richardson said: "LGBTQ+ History Month is celebrated to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ people. It is a great time to not only focus on how we can do better, but also to celebrate how far we have come in terms of rights, awareness and acceptance.

"We honour those who have fought for LGBTQ+ rights, and we welcome everyone to work with us towards our goal of global equality and acceptance."
