Lights, Camera, Action! It's the Student Media Awards!

Thursday 23-06-2022 - 11:21

Lancaster has long been renowned for its amazing selection of print publications and multi-media teams. After a rather full-on year, and return to in-person activity, it’s now time to celebrate everything our media groups have achieved through the annual Lancaster University Students’ Union Media Awards!

Our annual Student Media Awards took place last, and what a night it was. 12 awards were up for grabs for the nominees, plus a surprise 13th 'Media Team of the Year' Award, presented by the VP Societies & Media.

Dom Casoria the VP for Societies & Media said:

“It was amazing to celebrate all of the fantastic work that our student media teams have achieved over the past year. They work so hard to support SU activities such as Roses and the FTO elections, whilst developing their skill sets, making friends and making themselves more employable”

Misbah Ashraf, CEO said:

“The Students’ Union are passionate about supporting our student media groups and helping people to grow, find their interests and build great futures whether it be in the media industry or whatever their chosen profession post-university. I’m so proud of each and every member of our Student Media Teams who volunteers and works incredibly hard all year around.”

The event was a celebration of every media team's hard work and dedication over the last year, as each and every member has volunteered their time to provide an invaluable service to the student body. From hard hitting political pieces to relentless Roses coverage and everything in-between, we'd like to thank everyone involved as the University would not be the same without you!
