Badminton are smashing it, Fencing have foiled the competition and Water Polo have it in the back of the net.

Half way through the BUCS calendar and Lancaster has 10 teams at the top of their league with many others not far off.

Men’s Badminton 1st who have seen a string of wins are yet to take a loss are sitting at the top of their league with a game in hand, while the 2nds and Women’s 1st are second in their leagues.

Women’s Table Tennis are also undefeated at the top of their league as are Men's Basket Ball 1st, Men’s Lacrosse 1st and Men’s Fencing 1st. Also sitting at the top are Women’s Fencing 1st with only 1 loss and a game in hand, Men’s Football 1st with 4 wins and 1 draw, Men’s Football 2nds with just 1 loss, Netball 1st,  Men’s Water Polo and Men’s Hockey also with just 1 loss.

Lancaster are currently 39th in the National BUCS League table with 44 teams entered, 138 wins and 104 defeats so far giving us a 56% win rate. You can see where all BUCS teams are placed here.

Outside of BUCS Lancaster has teams competing in national level sport such as Darts. Lancaster Darts Society have entered a North West University League this year with 2 mixed teams. The A’s are currently second on the table with 2 games in hand the B’s 4th also with 2 games in hand.

Vice-President Activities Ben Francis said, “Our teams are working really hard this year and it’s great to see it paying off.  It’s all looking really promising in the build up to Roses 2018”.

 

Roses 2018 is at home this year and applications for new sports are still open.
