During Week 5 of this term all Lancaster University students will have the opportunity to vote in a referendum.
The referendum question agreed by the union’s Democracy Committee is:
The referendum was triggered by a majority vote of the Students’ Union Executive Committee.
Students participating in the upcoming referendum will be able to vote “Yes”, “No” or “Abstain”.
Voting will take place on the students’ union website from 10am on Wednesday, November 10th to 12pm on Friday, November 12th.
Be part of a campaign group
We’re hosting drop-in sessions for any current Lancaster students who wish to be part of an official campaign group for the referendum.
The union will make equal resources available to all campaign groups from a central fund.
Campaign leads will be assigned by Democracy Committee on the basis of “nominations” being sent to elections@lancastersu.co.uk by 12pm on Wednesday, November 3rd.
Campaign groups will be required to produce a manifesto to Democracy Committee, no later than 10am on Friday, November 5th. Campaigning will begin at 5pm on Friday, November 5th.
