Roses news

The Students’ Union knows just how important Roses is to our students; both athletes and proud supporters alike. There is nothing more important to you and us than bringing in home the Carter James trophy on 6th May 2018.

My most important sporting objective as VP Activities is to win a home Roses. It is my key priority to ensure that we secure the support and funding needed for our students to be best placed to win on the grandest stage possible

To make sure that this remains our number one priority, we’ve been working with the University to make sure that our teams are best placed to win their fixtures, all contributing to the securing the Carter James trophy once more.

We have secured £84,000 in Roses Development Funding to continue to the positive trajectory that are teams are on and improve our teams performances both in the coming BUCS season and Roses 2018.  Funding will be available for extra competitions, coaches and training sessions. We know that this will greatly help our teams development and build towards a massive Roses victory in May!

Our teams have benefitted from Roses Sports Development Funding for the last three years. This investment has been effective, as shown by an increase in our home performance by 4% and our away performance by 6%.  We want to improve even further this year.  We must continue to build on the momentum that has seen our biggest home victory and the closest away defeat to reinforce our superiority over York.

Keep the date in your diary, 4th - 6th May 2018.  It’s when York bring our trophy back.

I AM LANCASTER!
