Congratulations to our Men’s Rugby Union Club, who have raised an amazing £10,000 for Movember this year!
Since 2003, Movember has grown into a global movement, with participants growing moustaches to raise money for men’s causes including testicular cancer, prostate cancer and suicide prevention.
Last year the club raised more than £9,000 for the cause, and has managed to hit an even more ambitious target of £10,000 this year.
Top fund-raiser was graduate Ross Bullock, who raised £490 on behalf of the club.
Lancaster University Students’ Union Vice-President (Campaigns & Communications) Lewis Marriott said: “What an amazing achievement!
"We’re so proud of the Rugby Union club for hitting this ambitious fund-raising target and making a huge contribution to supporting men’s health.”
During November Lewis and union President George Nuttall also grew moustaches to raise awareness for the cause (pictured).
There’s still time to donate to the Rugby Club’s total – check out their Movember sponsorship page.
