A new website has been launched for student newspaper SCAN with support from the students’ union.

The redesign project was launched in February by 2018/19 VP Campaigns & Communications Islay Grant, with the aim of refreshing and modernising SCAN’s web presence.

Islay worked with the SCAN editorial team on developing the look and feel of the site, which was built by external company RedCitrusDesign.

As well as having a fresh new look, the site features a new facility to download and read the print edition of the paper.

Additional new features include improved image attribution to ensure student photographers are credited for their work, and a new facility to comment on articles.

Money was released from union reserves to fund the project.

VP Campaigns & Communications for 2019/20 Lewis Marriott said: “I’m delighted see the improvements that have been made to the SCAN website, and pleased the union has been able to help.

“This redesign brings the website much more in-line with the look and feel of the print edition and offers a vastly improved experience for SCAN’s readers.”
