A Facebook group has been set up to help students support each other through the Coronavirus emergency.

With some people in self-isolation and everyone practising ‘social distancing’ this could be a lonely time for many and contact via social media is one way we can help each other in these testing times.

The Facebook group, set up by the Students’ Union’s Full Time Officers, is called Lancaster University Corona Community and already has 700 members.

Lewis Marriott, VP Campaigns and Communications, writing the community description said: “This is an online community where we enjoy positive experiences together during these unprecedented times. Feel free to share tips, ideas, activities and support.”

Bee Morgan, VP Education kicked things off with a picture of her two cocker spaniel, Millie and Bryn, and posted: “Stuck on your own? Missing Lancaster or missing home? Let’s spread some positive vibes (and all the cuteness) by posting pictures of you pets in the comments below.”

The Facebook page can be found at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/1064399343919446/
