We're holding a series of focus groups to give our members chance to share their views on the students' union's democratic and decision-making structures, and we want YOU to take part.

The students’ union is the main representative body for all students at Lancaster University, and we're currently reviewing our structures to ensure we meet your needs and represent your views as well as a we can.

A key part of that is understanding what our membership thinks and so we are looking for some student members to take part in some focus groups exploring the following themes:

  • Decision-making
  • The Current Democratic Structures
  • The Full-Time Elected Officers

We will be running focus groups on:

  • Thursday December 10, 10am to 11.30am
  • Thursday December 10, 1pm to 2.30pm
  • Friday December 11, 10am to 11.30am
  • Friday December 11, 1pm to 2.30pm

If you would like to register an interest in attending one of these focus groups please click here to register which one you would like to attend. Participants will receive a £20 Amazon voucher for attending.

We are particularly keen to hear from Postgraduate Research students, Postgraduate Taught students and Mature students.

We are seeking a balance of individuals both demographically, by mode of study and by engagement (e.g. JCR, society or sports participant or leader, academic rep etc.), so please register your interest and we will be in touch to confirm your attendance. It is our intention to involve as many students as is practical, while ensuring that we speak to a representative sample of Lancaster students.

For this purpose we are asking potential participants to complete this form, which captures some basic demographic, study detail and engagement information.
