There were 7 candidates for the position of Student Trustee:
Ariana Dell
Declan Ricketts
HAMED ADAM THE CAMPUS CELEBRITY
Matthew Lamb
Ollie Earnshaw
Rory O’Ceallaigh
Amran Abita withdrew themselves from the election as a result of conflicting nominations for both Student Trustee and a role on Union Assembly (College President). As with all LUSU elections, students also had the option to vote for Re-Open Nominations.
In accordance with our Article of Association, all candidates for the role of Student Trustee must be available and registered students for the full 12-month duration of the role. Following the resignation of Pheobe Teasdale, and subsequent decision by the Governance Sub-Committee of Trustee Board, we were able to offer an additional 6-month post to candidates in this election. As a result, we were able to accept nominations from several candidates who would not have otherwise been eligible (for instance: they may be due to graduate in July).
The inclusion of the additional post meant we had to count the votes in two phases:
Phase 1: only those eligible for the 12-month posts.
Phase 2: all candidates, bar those successfully election in Phase 1.
The following candidates were eligible for the two 12-month posts:
Declan Ricketts
HAMED ADAM THE CAMPUS CELEBRITY
Rory O’Ceallaigh
1st preference vote for the ineligible and withdrawn candidates were re-distributed according to their 2nd preference. For instance, if you voted Matthew Lamb 1st and Rory O’Ceallaigh 2nd, your vote would now move from Matthew to Rory.
Following the count, Declan Ricketts & Rory O’Ceallaigh were successfully elected.
Votes were not counted for the remaining candidates. We removed withdrawn candidates and those elected to the 12-month positions. As before 2nd preferences were redistributed amongst the remaining candidates.
Following the count, Ariana Dell was successfully elected.

We would like to thank the candidates for their patience as we have taken the time to ensure a fair and valid result. We appreciate the delay has been extremely uncomfortable for you all.
