With Roses coming back to Lancaster over the Early May Bank Holiday weekend, we’ve been busy behind the scenes working to bring Roses ‘24 home for Lancaster University’s 60th anniversary – and we’re planning an event that’s bigger than ever before!

As preparations get underway, we will be ramping up activity as we build up to the big date in May. This starts with the introduction of this year’s Lancaster Roses Committee selection:

  • Yankho Songwe (Men’s Basketball)
  • James Parkin (Netball Umpiring Society)
  • Nicole Robinson (Women’s Football)
  • Rebecca Newman (Women’s Canoe Polo)
  • Hannah Ward (Women’s Netball)

With the committee in place, we now want you to get involved too – and are opening applications for any new event proposals! This is your chance to submit applications for new fixtures, events, or changes to current event criteria at Roses '24. Applications are reviewed by the Roses Committee in February when our York Committee counterparts come to visit campus.

Need a starting point? You can find a list of events and fixtures in the Roses '24 timetable on the application form. To keep things fair, applications must have input from both Lancaster and York teams - so make sure you plan together.

Submit your proposal here!

Following the success of the Q&A session on Monday and our recent Captains' briefing, we will have further drop-in sessions in the new year to answer any questions before the deadline of Friday 19th Jan at midnight.

York will be heading to Lancaster across the bank holiday weekend of May 3rd-5th 2024. We have much more planned as the excitement ramps up - so be sure to look out for fresh news and events in the weeks and months leading up to it. It’s historically tied up since the first Roses varsity back in 1965, so a big weekend awaits in May!
