A number of by-elections will be taking place this term.

PRESIDENT BY-ELECTION

On Monday 25th May nominations will open for the Students’ Union President By-Election.

* Please note the final appointment of an individual to the position of Student’ Union President for the academic year 2020-2021, would be subject to the outcome of any appeal made by the previous incumbent. *

Full-Time Officer roles are full-time, paid jobs here in your students’ union. During your year in office, you’ll be a director and trustee of our multi-million pound charity, represent more than 14,000 student members to the university, community and government, and manage your own projects and events.

Full-Time Officers will:

• Listen to and represent students to the university
• Uphold and act on the union’s beliefs and policies
• Run campaigns to deliver real change to students’ lives
• Collaborate with students to make the union and university an equal, diverse and inclusive place to live and study
• Support and champion the work of the colleges and hundreds of student volunteers

INTERNATIONAL OFFICER BY-ELECTION

We will also be electing our Part-Time Officer: International Students Officer this term, and they will start their time in office at the start of the summer vacation alongside our Full-Time Officer team.

These are voluntary roles, representing students on a variety of issues.

JCR OFFICER BY-ELECTIONS

The JCR Executive by- elections are to take place this term to fill vacant positions ready for Summer and Michaelmas Term. These are the people who organise and run your college socials and campaigns across the year, from Fresher's Week and Christmas ball through to Extrav! These are voluntary positions, representing you at both College and University level until Michaelmas Term elections.

Every college has slightly different JCR positions, the positions up for election this term are as follows:

• County JCR: Media & Communications Officer, Socials & Events Officer, Men's Sports Representative, Vice-President Socials & Events.
• Furness JCR: President, Vice-President Welfare and Campaigns, Welfare & Campaigns Officer, Welfare & Education Officer, Media & Communications Officer, Socials & Events Officer
• Grizedale JCR: President, Media & Communications Officer, Men's Sports Representative, General Secretary, Vice-President Socials & Events, Socials & Events Officer, Community and Inclusion Officer
• Lonsdale JCR: Visual Media and Communications Officer
• Pendle JCR: Vice-President Events & Engagement, Vice-President Welfare & Education, Sports Officer (Self-defining Men)
• Bowland JCR: Publicity Officer, Sports Representative (Men / Non-Binary)

VOTING

All Lancaster University students can vote and have a say on who represents you and leads your students' union! It's really quick and easy - just log in using your university login and password, head to lancastersu.co.uk/vote and cast your vote.

Here at Lancaster University Student's Union, we use the single transferable voting method. This means that you don't just vote for your favourite candidate, but you can let us know who is your second favourite, third favourite, and so on.
