LUSU Students in the City
A big LOVE LANCASTER welcome to our City and your new home from your Students' Union and the Lancaster BID!
In a brand new event for 2024, we are working with a whole host of high-street businesses to bring you Students in the City. On Thursday 3rd October from 3pm, Lancaster city centre will be dedicated to students with offers, discounts and freebies galore. Pick up an offer booklet from Freshers' Fair to find out what's available. We'll also be bringing some LUSU energy to town so you can expect high-street DJ sets, inflatable axe throwing, giant games, samba drumming and much, much more.
From 3-5pm, the first 150 visitors can get a FREE Welcome Drink from Atkinson's Coffee at the Castle so be sure to stop there first and take in some of the heritage of our historic city. To redeem your welcome drink, please register a free ticket to this event and show it at the till. Free drink excludes alcohol and up to the value of £4.00 per customer only. Ticket registration does not guarantee free welcome drink, while stocks last only.
This is a self-guided event. Please make your own way into town using the bus services. From there, we recommend first starting at Lancaster Castle (before 5pm only) and working your way through town thereafter.

- Events run by societies, clubs, student groups and colleges may have additional terms and conditions. Please make sure you check your ticket details.
- Unless specified by the organising group, all tickets are non-refundable.
- The right of entry is reserved at all events.
- Breach of conditions or any unacceptable behaviour likely to cause damage, nuisance or injury shall result in the patron being ejected from the premises.
- Unless specified, tickets are sold for an unreserved standing event.
- Tickets cannot be exchanged, transferred or resold for commercial gain.
- The Students’ Union reserves the right to alter or vary the content or timing of the whole or any part of the event due to circumstances beyond reasonable control without being obliged to refund or exchange tickets.
- The Students’ Union cannot take any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property brought to an event.
- There will be photographers, videographers and live-streaming on site at some Students’ Union events. By purchasing tickets you are accepting that photographs may be taken of you during the event and that these may be released into the public domain; examples of uses include, though are not limited to, publication on the Students’ Union Facebook page, Students’ Union website and our publications.
