Volunteer Day at Brockholes Nature Reserve

Sign up here: Brockholes Balsam Busters (Balsam Busters - University taster day) | Lancashire Wildlife Trust Volunteering

LUSU Green and Lancashire Wildlife Trust have teamed up to organise a day of volunteering, to help control the problem of invasive plant species.

What this entails:

  • An opportunity to visit the stunning and unique nature reserve Brockholes.
  • Free transport there and back from Lancaster University campus.
  • Pulling up the invasive plant from areas of the reserve by hand and partaking in activities to ensure wildflower success.
  • A great opportunity to meet like-minded people, learn more about habitat management and develop your species identification skills.
  • A fantastic opportunity which can go on your CV.

What to wear and bring:

  • Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather that you don’t mind getting wet and/or muddy (sessions will go ahead even if it’s raining).
  • Strongly advised to wear long sleeves and trousers, to reduce the risk of scratches and stings,
  • A drink and a snack for a short break during the session.

Important info!

  • Once signed up, please message James on Whatsapp (+44 7460276707) to be added to the groupchat for more information.
  • Limited spaces - first come first serve (16 slots).
  • Please only sign up if you are certain you can make it, to avoid taking up a place unnecessarily.
