What is Bailrigg FM?

Bailrigg FM is one of the oldest student radio stations in the country, and the first student FM station. We broadcast 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and our variety of shows welcome writers, musicians, presenters and many more to have their voices heard on the airwaves. If you have an idea for a show or want to help out in the station, we want to hear from you!

 

Who is Bailrigg FM?

Any student who loves radio, or loves audio as a medium to express themselves. But we are more than just DJs. We are writers, musicians, engineers, comedians, critics, debaters! Everyone is welcome to the station no matter how experienced they are.

 

Why Bailrigg FM?

We are more than just a radio station. We are a society and we are fun! It is almost impossible not to make friends in and around the station. We have a little lounge with sofas, a TV and friendly people having fun (and food!). If you're trying to make some new friends, just go to the station or join us in one of our socials!

If you're more interested in the practicalities, Bailrigg FM will give you the chance to work under real FM regulations - teaching you how professional radio works - and give direct experience for any future jobs within broadcast media. Several of our members have ended up working in big radio stations - even the BBC itself!
