Welcome to Lancaster University Ballroom DanceSport Society (LUBDS) !!!
LUBDS offers professional lessons in Latin American and Ballroom dancing every Monday night, as well as competitions, socials, performances, and much more...
We have a thriving beginners team, ranking 4th in the UK in 2022, as well as an active casual dancer community, so no matter what you want to get out of joining the society we can promise you a fantastic experience! Our Novice+ couples are also highly successful with consistent finals at every competition including 1st and 2nd at Nationals.
Our annual events include our Charity Showcase, Roses, NUDC (AKA Northerns, where we compete against other Northern and Scottish universities), IVDC (AKA Nationals, a country-wide competition hosted at the Blackpool Winter Gardens), our Christmas dinner and dance, and handover meal.
We pride ourselves on being an accessible society - you don't need a partner, ballroom gear, or any experience to get started. Our professionally taught lessons are reasonably priced at £5/hr with block discounts available, and competitions are available to all regardless of skill level.
