Lancaster University Equestrian Club

 

If you are looking to experience the joys of equestrian sport, events, and socials - the Equestrian Club is the one for you!  

We offer four membership types: Team, developmental squad, Lessons and Social. Each membership types have different benefits that are suited to your needs and will inspire you to reach your individual equine goals. Whether you want to be prepared for competitions or reconnect with your long-lost riding skills, we have a place for you.

 

• BUCS Team: Think you’ve got what it takes to represent lancaster university? Our BUCS teams train every Tuesday at Myerscough and compete against other universities throughout the year. We have 10 team spots across two squads for which selection is based on trials happening on Wednesday 8th October- Sign up Here . Annual membership is £65, plus the cost of weekly training sessions.

• Development Squad: didn’t make the team this year? No worries devs is perfect for you. a skill-building position to give you the best shot at making the team next year. You’ll train every Wednesday at Bigland Hall Equine, be invited to join our BUCS team for theory sessions, and attend home competitions to gain behind-the-scenes experience of how everything works Annual membership is just £60. You’ll be automatically offered a spot in the Development Squad if you don't make the team after trials. But even if you don’t trial and simply want to improve your skills and knowledge, you’re more than welcome to join.

 

•  Lessons: Our Wednesday sessions at Bigland Hall Equestrian Centre are open to everyone – whether you’re brand new to riding, looking to build your skills, or just love spending time with horses outdoors. This is a relaxed, pressure-free way to enjoy riding without the commitment to compete. Membership is £55 for the year (we train during Terms 1 & 2) or £30 per term, plus the cost of each lesson you attend.

 

• Social: This is a perfect option for those who want to get to know more about horses without the commitment of riding. We hold weekly socials on a Wednesday night, plus lots of fun extras. We can't wait to get back to all our in person events. Membership is only £10 for the year! To become a social member no prior knowledge of horse riding is needed! Just come along to our Wednesday night socials, film nights, and excursions - Badminton Horse Trials is a firm favourite.
