Lancaster University Women's Football Club (LUWFC)
We are a friendly club welcoming players of all abilities. Whether you're a complete beginner or a more experienced player, there is a place for you!
We currently have a 1st and 2nd team in BUCS and a third team in a local recreational league. Our club also works closely with the Students' Union to help deliver an Intramural 7 Aside League!
Training and Games
Each team trains twice a week on the 3G pitch:
- Monday - 5:30-7:00pm (1s & 2s)
- Thursday - 5:00-6:30pm (3s)
- Friday - 4:00-5:30pm (1s, 2s & 3s)
Our 1s and 2s play on Wednesdays against other unviersities in BUCS Northern Tier 2 and Northern Tier 4, and our 3s play usually on Sunday's against local teams in a recreational league.
Both our 1s and 2s have FA qualified coaches that run training sessions and manage the team on match days. The 3s also have access to an experienced coach.
Roses
We put forward 3 teams to compete in the largest inter-varsity sports tournament in Europe, Roses.
Socials
We hold themed socials weekly that involve fun activities and the opportunity to bond with people from all of our teams, before taking advantage of the range of pubs and nightlife Lancaster has to offer! Throughout the year we also do things such as: a christmas meal, ice skating, trips to the Lake District, team meals, watching football, attending live games, and an awards evening.
Each year, we offer our members the opportunity to go abroad with us on tour. Last year we did a trip to Amsterdam!
Memberships
We have a range of membership types to suit your involvement and time at the club. If you are on one of our teams, you must also purchase a Student Sport Red Pass.
If you are not on one of our teams, but are involved in Women's Football at Lancaster, we offer a social membership too!
