Description

Do you want to join a friendly club and meet new people, all whilst playing the world's only fully mixed-gender sport? How do you feel about taking up a sport that’ll take you to destinations all over the UK, and even across Europe, where you’ll meet, play, and party with other Korf-mad students, just like yourself?

If that sounds like you, then there’s only one club you need to join - Lancaster University Korfball Club! Having been voted Lancaster University Student Union's Club of the Year 2024, there's no better time to join than now!

Our club has three teams who compete in weekly league matches against teams in the North West, represent Lancaster University at three weekendly BUCS tournaments, and attend numerous tournaments all over the UK (and even in Europe)! The majority of our players have never played korfball before and know how daunting joining a new club can be, so don't be apprehensive, come on down to training and you'll soon pick it up!

We currently train twice a week on Monday 4:45pm-6:45pm and Wednesday 7am-9am at the University Sports Centre's Sports Hall 1 although we're arranging a third weekly session to start during term 1! Trainings are a mixture of club sessions (where members of all abilities play together) and team sessions (where individual teams are taught separately by our coaches).

Our designated taster sessions are on Friday 4th October 12-2pm and Sunday 6th October 12:30-2pm however if you can't make these and still want to try korfball, get in touch with us through our socials and we'll find time for you to come give it a go! Plus, if you're new to the sport, we're hosting our annual ‘Freshers Tournament’ in October where teams from all over the country bring their beginners to play. After all, there is no better way to learn the game than by playing it!

Visit our social medias: @lancsunikorfball (Instagram), Lancaster University Korfball Club (Facebook) or drop us an email (korfball.su@groups.lancaster.ac.uk) if you have any questions. We can't wait to see you soon!
