We are the Lancaster University Living History Society, a 12th Century historical re-enactment group.
We engage in a multitude of authentic crafts, from making our own decorated kit by hand, creating our own shields and armour, crafting our weapons, and cooking whilst on encampment.
Our combat features a variety of weaponry, from bows and crossbows, swords and spears, to glaives and axes. Combat works on a hit point system so the outcome of a battle is never predetermined, leading to challenging and rewarding combat!
We also have opportunites for authentic 12th Century portrayals of church life and religion.
There is something for everybody in LULHS!
We hold craft sessions on Thursday evenings 7pm-10pm in Bowland North, usually in SR 23.
We train every Sunday (provided the weather is good) at Quernmore Park in Lancaster 11am-4pm, and every Wednesday in the Brandrigg Room on campus 1pm-6pm (the location may vary depending on the weather). If you fancy training with us we meet up before each session at Alexandra Square, (the big stairs near Greggs, you can't miss us) before walking or catching the bus to training, make sure you check our Facebook page for details.
