LUSCUBA is Lancaster University’s scuba diving society, dedicated to providing training and dive trips across the UK, giving students the chance to explore life beneath the waves.
As an affiliated branch of the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC), we have been active for over 50 years. The society has an extensive collection of equipment for student use and a team of highly qualified volunteer instructors offering expert training and guidance.
Whether you are a complete beginner or already certified, you are welcome at LUSCUBA. Alongside diving, we also run weekly socials, regular trips, and offer theory lectures and Ocean Diver courses throughout the year.

New to Diving?
No Problem! Every year we run the BSAC Ocean Diver Course for new divers, which includes theory lessons and practical dive training sessions, starting in a swimming pool, and later in open water at Capernwray Quarry, our local dive centre. This course is suitable for everyone, even if you've never dived before, and is run by experienced divers who hold BSAC Instructor Qualifications. Follow this link to our new diver resource pack, where you can see a breakdown of costs, a schedule for freshers 2025, and the BSAC self declaration medical form.
Already a Diver?
Brilliant! We recognise SCUBA qualifications no matter where or who you did them with, so you may already be able to dive with us. You can also extend your qualifications with advanced BSAC Courses, such as Sports Diver or Dive Leader through the society. Get your BSAC Student Membership, which gives you diving insurance and other benefits, and dive with us today!
