Hi there!
Welcome to the Lancaster University Manga and Anime Society (LUMAS)! We are interested in all different kinds of anime and manga, from the most popular shonen action series to relaxed slice of life comedies! Whether you've been watching anime for years, or are just curious about it, we are the society for you. We aim to host three events a week, including watch sessions and socials!
Where and When?
Every Wednesday, we meet at 2pm and watch a variety of anime with a picked out theme.
If you prefer watching a single show to the end over the Wednesday assortments, you’ll enjoy our weekend sessions. On Saturday at 2pm where we watch episodes of a show, voted on by members each term. After a few episodes, we have a fun activity such as picnics, games, or quizzes!
Every other Monday, we meet at 7:30pm, for a more creative type of session which we call Manga Mondays! We have a creative activity to do during these sessions that vary from week to week, as well as a discussion of a manga that we had voted to read the previous Monday!

Full membership is £4.00 for the entire academic year 24/25, a free temporary membership is available for those who want to test the waters. You can also join the discord and ask for a free summer membership right now if you are interested, and want to chat or get to know us before term starts!
