Our Roses 2023 win at York!
Pole fitness is a great way to exercise and have fun at Lancaster!.
There is no need for any past experiences in pole, dance or gymnsatics and most of our members have none when they start! There's no need to be flexible or strong as you can build on these areas whilst on the pole!
Our society is open to everyone of every shape, size, gender and identity! Pole is an inclusive community where you learn to embrace yourself for who you are. Each member gets to focus on the style of pole they enjoy, so you get to do what you love!
We usually compete in at least two competitions a year, NUPDC and Roses, which are both great fun and opportunities to build your confidence and get creative! If performance is your thing then there is the opportunity to participate in showcases held by us and also held by other societies.
We have jams (practice sessions) multiple times a week to socialise and practice moves you already know; and we also hold classes with our own pole instructor so you can learn new moves!
We encorage you to wear as much or as little as you like! From leggings and a vest for a more modest look, to a sexy pole set; we urge you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in! We reccomend a sports bra (or vest) and shorts, as pole relies on grip from your skin!
You can also buy pole grip aids to help you grip onto the pole! We reccomend Girlie Grip, Dry Hands and Monkey Hands, but bear in mind when you're just beginning pole you don't need grip!
For a class, we ask that you come in appropriate clothing and bring water as pole can be intensive at times!
We also ask that you do not moisturise for 24 hours before getting on a pole as moisturiser can damage the poles!
