Are you a fan of cue sports? Whether you're a regular player, or brand new to the sport and want to try something new now you're at Uni, cue sports is one of the easiest sports to get into as a novice and quickly pick up, but it's tricky to master! LUPSC is your home for all things cue-related on campus!
Lancaster University is one of the very few Universities in the country that features a collegiate system, and with that comes some fierce rivalry in the form of inter-college bar sports. And perhaps the most entertaining and competitive of them all is pool! Every Monday and Tuesday night, starting from week 2 and running right through to week 20, the colleges will face off against each other in three leagues (Men's A's, Men's B's and Women's) to compete for the prestigious title of College Pool Champions.
Lancaster also has a thriving pub league that runs on Wednesday nights, starting from approximately mid October. The club shall be fielding 4 teams again this year, with the A's competing in the 1st Division, the B's and C's competing in the 2nd Division and the Women's+ competing in the 3rd Division. Not only do we play 8-ball, but in the past few years we have also seen success in both 9-ball and Snooker competitions!
Joining LU Pool and Snooker is the first step in getting involved in the culture of bar sports. We'll give you all the info you need to get started, and will also run events alongside the college league, including:
- Practice sessions, where you can get some coaching from some of the top players on campus
- Socials, where you can get to know fellow pool players from across the Uni away from the tables
- Intra-campus individuals competitions
- Opportunities to represent the Uni across the country!
