Description

Lancaster University Sailing Club
We are Lancaster University’s Sailing Society, training throughout the year at Bolton Sailing Club and welcoming everyone regardless of experience. We have 2 fleets of Firefly class sailboats and a fleet of 420s with a capacity of 2 people each.

If you sailed before:
We focus on team racing, which involves three boats vs three in a short, tense battle. We train on Saturdays and compete in the BUCS/BUSA Team Racing Championship. We also compete against other universities in weekend-long social and sailing events. Transport to and from Bolton Sailing Club is arranged for every session (to cover the price of petrol, there is a ~£3.40 ticket price). We can provide buoyancy aids and wetsuits, but you might wish to get your own equipment to increase your comfort during the sessions.

If you are new to sailing:
We offer beginner sailing sessions throughout the year as per demand. Our qualified, caring and professional instructors will guide you through every step, from getting familiar with the boat and how to set it up, all the way to getting you confident on the water. Send us a message or check @lancssailing on Instagram for the next session dates.
