Suspension of face-to-face activity

Tuesday 03-11-2020 - 17:09
Here for you

New national restrictions come into force on Thursday 5 November, meaning that we have no choice but to suspend all organised face-to-face activity both indoors and outdoors.

This suspension will run from Thursday 5th November 2020 until at least Wednesday 2nd December 2020.

We appreciate that this is both difficult and frustrating, especially for those of you that have worked tirelessly to ensure your groups can return to activity safely. This work will not go to waste though and will be integral to resuming activity again when it is safe to do so.

This impacts all students’ union face-to-face activities including, but not limited to, the following groups:

  • Societies
  • Sports Teams
  • College Sports Teams
  • JCR Events
  • Student Media channels

You can read the new rules in full on the Government website. Under the new lockdown restrictions, people are permitted to exercise outdoors with members of their own household or, when on your own, with one person from another household. Exercise has a significant positive impact on physical and mental wellbeing, and we would encourage all students to stay active during thie period while adhering to social distancing rules.

We will be aiming to provide updates to everyone as and when more information becomes available. Thank you for your continued patience, cooperation and understanding during this difficult period.
