This term we’re electing our new President and five Vice-Presidents for 2022-23. These are paid, full-time roles for the most senior officers in the union.
Our Full-Time Officers play a central role in the running of the union - helping to shape its policies and guide the way it operates.
The roles not only make a huge difference to student life at Lancaster, but also give the candidates a great experience that will help them launch their future careers. This is your opportunity to lead your union and to make real change here at Lancaster for the benefit of your fellow students.
Roles are:
Vice-President (Union Development)
Vice-President (Societies & Media)
We’re also holding elections for our six Liberation-Campaign Officers. These are voluntary roles, representing students who identify as members of our liberation groups.
Roles are:
International Students' Officer
Students with Disabilities Officer
Throughout the election period, we'll be hosting a series of Candidate Academies, giving you chance to find out more about the roles and get advice on manifesto-writing, campaigning and more. Look out for more information on the SU Facebook & Instagram pages.

Successful candidates will take on their roles at the start of the summer vacation.
This year we have decided to make some changes to the typical timeline the biggest being the introduction of the Candidate Academy Training Week.
This is a week after nominations close where candidates have the opportunity to undertake lots of training put on by the SU to help better prepare themselves for the campaigning period.
This also means you do not need to submit a final manifesto until Monday 28th Feb giving you a week after nominations close to ask for help and finalise your manifesto.
This should hopefully give every candidate a deep understanding of their role and how to best utilise the election going into the campaign period.
For more information on the roles:
Nominations for both elections will be submitted at lancastersu.co.uk/nominations
