Packing for uni can be a daunting task and you'll worry you haven't packed enough or that you've packed too much. There isn't a right or wrong answer when it comes to packing for uni, you just pack what you think you'll need and want with you and you can't got far wrong. We'll be publishing lists of things you might not have thought about over the week starting with the bedroom and bathroom:
• Bedding - Duvet, pillows, 2 sets of single bedding will probably do. Tip: The mattresses in a lot of the accommodation is slightly bigger than a normal single so a non-fitted or 3 quarter bedsheet might be better.
• Photos – People always say it but they are nice to have around your room
• A Clock – if you don’t carry a watch a clock can be useful rather than always checking a screen.
• Books – I’m talking reading for fun books. As a student, reading is a big part of your day and it can be easy to forget to read for fun.
• Posters – There is a poster sale on campus every day in the week.
• White Tac – No Blue-Tac on the walls.
• Pins- For the notice board.
• Cleaning wipes – Your desk is bound to get a few coffee spills and such so having some Flash/ Dettol/other brand wipes in your room will be useful.
• Air freshener – It’s never a bad idea to keep the room smelling nice.
• Towels – Treat yourself to more than 1. Hand towels, bath towels, flannels, why not buy a set, go wild!
• Flip-flops - for shared bathrooms.
• Toilet rolls – For Townhouses and ensuit rooms.
• Toothbrush pot – So your toothbrush isn’t roaming the bathroom floor.
Your on campus room will already have a bin, lamps, notice board and chair. You aren’t allowed mini fridges in your room unless cleared by the college manager (for medication use usually).
