Grow Our Minds

Being a student can be great fun, but it also brings its pressures. Deadlines, money worries, personal problems and other issues can create situations where we're not feeling like ourselves - but there are things we can do to look after ourselves and the people around us.

This year we set up Grow Our Minds, a new campaign that aims to help you to overcome your own mental health challenges as well as recognise signs of difficulty and offer support to your mates if they need it.

We launched on Tuesday October 10 – International Mental Health Day - offering free brews, a place to sit and chat, chance to sow your own ‘Grow Our Minds’ pot plant, and learn all about Mental Health First Aid to make sure you’re ready to help your friends if they need it.

We will be holding a number of Mental Health First Aid Training sessions over the year to help you to understand more about mental illnesses and learn how to help your family and friends if they are struggling.

There’ll be further activities scheduled throughout the year, giving you chance to be active, take a break from your studies and discover ways to stay positive – keep an eye out for updates throughout the year.
